Around the time when I had just moved to Paris, I had a pretty big obsession with Carven. I remember how back then I kept saying that my dream was to work for them in the communication and PR strategic team.
As you may have figured it out by now, I never actually got that wish and actually one of my best friends did… it is funny how the world works sometimes.
I say “never” because my mind is set on something else nowadays; it seems like I’m more and more leaning towards my “artistic” self who wants to be a full-time professional photographer… and I have made some pretty life-changing decisions to pursue that (but I’ll tell you more about that later).
After that my friend who knew how much I loved Carven, invited me to work in the backstage of the Fall 2013 show (yeah, the one with the amazing cotton candy pink coat and all those marvelous pastel looks)… I was there as part of the staff and I remember how badly I wanted to take photos but didn’t want to seem unprofessional, so I actually managed to contain myself but it was then that I decided I needed to pursue backstage photography additional to street style. (I had thought about it before, but this was when I KNEW).
Fast forward to September 2014 and there I was again at the Grand Palais before the Carven show, but this time with the power to shoot everything around me!
It also turned out to come with perfect timing, since this was the last collection conceived by Guillaume Henry, who is the responsible of reviving this heritage brand and turning it into the brand I love today.
And so here they are, the photos that represent a little step closer to the things I dream of achieving; and I couldn’t be more thrilled about having this little space in the cyber world to share them with you 🙂
