- Fashion Week
Happy Monday! We are just around the corner from the beginning of Men’s and Couture FW, which means I should really get my posts from SS15 going and today is the turn for Véronique Branquinho Fashion Show!
This was one of the last shows I shot this season, and I have to say it was completely different to anything I saw at the other runways.
You know how most designers are obsessed with beauty and perfection? Well this show seemed to be all about the opposite…
Starting from the model casting; aside from a few exceptions, it was as if they deliberately chose models that were not “conventionally” beautiful, but who had unusual or exotic features.
Then the make up was light and pale, while the eyes had only white eye-liner; this gave place to a ghostly / angelical air to the models.
And finally the clothes were meant to look effortless and unfinished…
The designer went for simple looks that didn’t feel over-produced but that nonetheless possessed a certain attention to detail.
In the end I think this is a collection targeted at a very specific niche that doesn’t go for mainstream pieces that everybody wears.
I personally found the collection interesting although not for me, but I always appreciate the opportunity to photograph things that broaden my horizons 🙂
Let me know what you think of it!
