- Fashion Week
Omg I’m so sorry for disappearing you guys! The thing is (as you may know), I spent the last week in New York and although I had planned to work on 2 posts that week I simply couldn’t manage to make the time.
On the bright side, although it wasn’t the purpose of the trip, I did manage to shoot some street style 🙂
So I have so much to show you! The street style I photographed that week, my two somewhat decent outfits of that week, a photoshoot I did with my friend Ari from the blog “The Double Denim”, and my collection of photos of New York.
I have given you a sneak peek of those photos on Instagram, but I took so many more it would be a shame not to share with you… I’m only trying to figure out whether it should be one very long post with all the photos, or if I should divide in multiple ones (perhaps one per day); let me know what you prefer!
So today’s post features Derek Lam and DKNY Street Style!
So far, I had only shot done it in Paris, so it was cool to shoot in a completely new scenario.
Remember how I always say shooting street style is no glamour and is full of challenges? Well now add to that the fact that we were tons of degrees below zero.
It was hard but so cool! I think it’s always good to push our own limits from time to time.
One thing I found interesting, was to see what the show’s attendees wore in an effort to remain fashionable but not get hypothermia.
Some were brave and decided to risk it and just wear fabulous outfits regardless of the cold; others resorted to the use of big fur coats (which was probably the most efficient solution, although I have mixed feelings towards fur), and some just covered with as many layers they could and forgot about fashion (I didn’t photograph those haha)… there were very very few who managed to create really warm AND fashionable outfits (what I mean is, most looked fashionable but I doubt they were truly warm).
As for me… I tried to look “decent” those days, but I have a horrible relationship with cold, and had to layer and layer and layer to be somewhat comfortable; so no photos of me here 😉
I promise to try to publish next article really soon… I’ll try my best, because tomorrow I leave for Milan! And that means I’ll be running up and down once again 🙂
In the meantime, don’t forget to follow my Fashion Week adventures on Instagram <3
